On Friday May 1st and Saturday May 2nd we will be welcoming Chef Duncan Holmes & Director of Experience Allison Anderson, of Beckon, Denver to join us for a two night only collaborative tasting menu. Chef Duncan Holmes has a stacked résumé that includes once being the culinary director of Fracsa in Boulder. In 2017, he and his partners and Holmes’s wife, director of experience Allison Anderson debuted Call, a casual cafe in RiNo that landed on Bon Appétit‘s 2018 list of the ten best new restaurants in the country. A few months later, Beckon debuted in the space next door to Call, an upscale sister concept that became one of the hottest reservations in town. In September of 2023, Beckon became one of five Colorado restaurants to earn a Michelin star in the state’s inaugural guide. Allison Anderson was awarded the 2024 MICHELIN Guide Colorado Outstanding Service Award. As Director of Experience, Allison Anderson, a Denver native, brings her years of hospitality expertise to oversee the warm, immersive service at Beckon. On Friday May 8th and Saturday May 9th we will be welcoming Chef Brandon Rice, of Ernest, San Francisco to join us for a two night only collaborative tasting menu. Chef Brandon Rice toes the line between local and global. With the former, locality is at the crux of his sourcing, maximizing the best of what’s in season at nearby farmers’ market to fill out his menu. But although the products are local, the flavors have a worldly influence, stretching every continent. For this, Brandon draws inspiration from his international travels with his family while growing up. Growing up on the East Coast, the Virginia native used to help his mom cook at home, developing an early fondness for food and knowing from a young age that he loved cooking. In high school, he worked at a local restaurant in Roanoke. After earning an associate degree in culinary arts at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, Rice went on to stage in esteemed kitchens throughout Europe, including Quique Dacosta in Spain and Noma in Copenhagen.
